We HAD a puppy

Well, everyone knows my love for dogs, right? Well, one day in December, we went as a family to get pizza and some groceries. While our pizza was baking (Papa Johns) we went to the Smith's which is next door. There was a family outside holding these tiny little puppies! Oh I knew I was in trouble right when I held the little guy! They were free and six weeks old. I put on my own puppy face as I looked at Greg. He said no, no, and no over and over. I begged and begged and said this will be my Christmas present. He said fine, but wasn't happy. Well, this dog was a mix between a dachsund/beagle and a jack russell terrier. He was long and small and I loved him! We named him SnakPac and then 3 hours later Max.

That night I did some researching on my little pooch only to find that this breed was horrible with kids, very loud, a digger and an escaper! I was not too thrilled, but he was sooo cute, I thought I'll train him to be good. But, then it came...Camden was too rough. He dropped him, put him in a head-lock and pushed him away. I thought uh-oh, I might be in over my head now. So I went to bed that night and felt a very strong feeling that we should not have this beautiful dog with us. We can't even afford our child, let alone ourselves, and now we have a dog who needs to be neutered and have daily shots, grooming, food, you name it! So, this is where everyone gasps and then thinks evil things of me.

I took him to the Humane Society at 10 that morning. They said they had a waiting list for my little Max and that he would be adopted within an hour. I cried and cried as I watched him be taken away. I felt awful that this family trusted me to take their beloved puppy to a good family full of love, and boom...I abandon him the next day to a family I hadn't even met. So that's my story. I've learned the hard way to not do things on impulse and to actually think about my actions because they have consequences. All day Camden kept looking for his "dawggy" and it was no where to be found. So that's it. I'm sure I'm going to have some harsh comments...go ahead, I've prepared myself.

OH MY GOSH! He's the cutest thing EVER! Don't worry about giving him up though. Shawn and I did the same thing with our pug...before we even had Cora :) We only had him for a few weeks and then realized we couldn't take care of him...so sad. You're puppy was cute though. I can understand why you took him on an impuse.

Puppies are cute but the problem is that once they are full grown that cuteness goes away. We think you made a very wise decision.

You're not evil Sariah. Even Todd, who loves dogs, said "at least she was responsible and didn't throw it out on the street." That came from someone who at one point in time decided that he wanted to adopt every dog he possibly could and let them run wild and free on the acres of land we were going to have to buy so he could fulfill this dream...Also- at least Camden is young enough that his mom buying him a puppy and then stealing it away from him, will not be something that he will remember :) hee hee

Sariah---
You had a puppy. I think her name is,is,is, oh yah-Sydney. And then she grew and you grew and now she bugs you and Mom takes care of her. So, wise choice in getting rid of the puppy. We're very proud of you. Just get some bunnies. HEHEHE! You can always have them for dinner when you get tired of them. You can also eat dog but not a good idea in this country. HAHA! He was an adorable little guy. It's a good thing that I didn't get to see him in person. I probably would have taken him home for you. He could have lived with our bunnies. That would have been cool. Okay, sorry for writing a book.
