Six Flags Discovery Kingdom

For my Mom's 50th birthday, we decided to go to Six Flags down in Vallejo. We went with the Weiss family and had a blast. Unfortunately I injured Greg in a jet ski accident over the weekend, so he couldn't go. He stayed home with Tanner, which was a huge blessing for all of us. Thanks hun!

Here is right when we walked into the park. A nice big snake, which Camden has been obsessed with lately. So he had to touch it of course!

We didn't know where to start when we walked in. It's so overwhelming. But then Gramma all of a sudden said "I like that ride!". So off she went with Camden and the girls. Poor Camden...he looked a little sick...

After we enjoyed some rides, we had a little time before the whale show, so we went and browsed by the elephants. We have a new friend. She is 68 years old, a little deaf, but very smart! Here she is getting a bath.

I decided with the next 3 pictures...this guy has one of the nastiest jobs there.

We thought they turned the hose on again...but no...she was peeing!

and some...

After the bath...we went to the whale show. Shouka is her name and Lily was obsessed with her. So we sat for the show. I didn't mind. I find killer whales and dolphins fascinating!

The best part about the trip was knowing Camden had no idea there was a Thomas Town. He was thrilled!

Good ol James and Percy. Thomas' buddies as Camden calls them.

I think my dad was very excited to be taller than the conductor! Think so?

Now here's the funny part...the Thomas train ride goes around some of the park and it's a fun ride...however you don't sit in Thomas. You sit in Annie and Clarabel. But Camden was not gonna have that. He pushed the worker/driver out of the way and crawled into Thomas. Luckily my mom got a shot of this before she kicked him out. Crazy kid.

Camden had fun on all the kiddie rides. I'm glad Lily and him got to be ride buddies!

We like that Six Flags was also Discovery Kingdom. Meaning there was lots of animals. Camden loved the giraffe because he could get close. This beats out our bad San Fran zoo trip a couple of months back.

Now here is something interesting. Here I am cruising with the kiddos on a lovely Safari ride...when I notice my family laughing hysterically. Why are they laughing at me? Is it that I'm soooo big in this small jeep? Um no...take a look at the 2nd picture in the background.

"Mommy...what are those turtles doing?"

Gross....come on turtles...this is a family park!!! Andrea said the one on the bottom was moaning! That's when we left the turtles...

Well, we had a fun trip. Unfortunately Camden got sick during the day, by the time we got home (midnight) Camden had a fever of 104.0. I was freaking out. He slept most of the day after that. Luckily he's better now.

We had fun and look forward to doing it again. Thanks again Greg and Tanner for letting us go. We missed you.

Go to Adam and Andrea's for other Six Flags pictures. She has more since my camera died when we got there.

Oh my!! What a fun day we had:) I especially liked being the designated little kid watcher. No big scary, upside down rides for this old gramma. Just calm cool Thomas. Poor Camden. He was soooo good for being soooo HOT! Next time we'll have to take Greg and Tanner. No water activities for you guys the day before we go.

Love you much!!!

Oh man, is Karen 50? She's one hot gramma! Happy birthday Karen :) Miss you so much in the nursery.

Poor Tanner. Why do kids always get sick on trips? It seems to be a law of nature. Glad you all still had fun though and that you got to have a family picture in front of the mating turtles ;-)

Actually it was the top turtle making noises. I didn't know turtles make noises during....
We'll have to go next summer for my big 3-0 and your wimpy 2-6. HEHE! And thanks Greg for getting hurt and staying home with Tanner. It was very nice to not have to worry about him all night and day. It just sucks that you were hurting. C-ya.

So fun! We love Discovery Kingdom! And incredibly funny about the turtles, just a little side note../Kim Bayless' daughter Morgan was at the zoo and the turtles were doing the same thing...to this day, if you ask her what a turtle says..she tells you
hmmmmmm......!
Glad you guys had fun!

Looks like fun! I saw the pictures on Andreas blog too. :) I can't believe your mom is 50. She is so beautiful and so much fun-I hope I am just like her when I turn 50. And what a great husband you have to stay home with Tanner!

What a fun way for your mom to celebrate her birthday. I can't believe she is 50. She looks great.

You crack me up about the turtles. I love seeing all the animals and Shouka is so neat. I hope you got to go on some scary rides. V2 almost made me wet myself.

I think its great Camden saw Thomas. When we went last year Thomas Town was still under construction.

I love the picture of Greg and his mini me. What a great dad for staying home with Tanner. Are you sure he didn't plan it? Paul totally would have.
I am glad you had fun! Happy belated Birthday to your mamacita!
