Happy Birthday and some potty talk....

So Greg turned 30 on Saturday. That's right! Old fart now. His birthday card read something like this...greg free is getting old...greg free is growing mold. I tried to free style like him. I got a kick out of it more than he did. We woke up...I should say me and Camden...then woke up Greg an hour later for some birthday belgian waffles. Tradition for December 1st. Then Greg opened his presents which consisted of some new track pants and a nice sweater that he is sportin above in our family photo attempt.

Greg went to MC at a court of honor at 10 and then we had lunch, and got dressed for some family photos at my mom's. Camden would not hold still at all. I wanted pics on her fireplace and by her tree and on her stairs wrapped in garland. But no...here we are trying to self-timer our pictures on our little fireplace. Dumb setting I know. I really want snow...but it didn't stick thursday and melted by the afternoon.

Greg and I then went to PF Changs. Thanks to a gift card we got last Christmas...we enjoyed a free delicious meal and an hour long wait to be seated. I forgot how it was at restaurants...we haven't been in so long, and now I remember why I started cooking!

We had a great date night though. It was fun just Greg and I. Our food was hot and we didn't have to keep sayin hold still or shoosh or sit down to eachother like we do at home with Camden. Thanks Grandma for watching him.

Greg got calls from all his siblings and dad and had a great day. I want to wish my mother-in-law a Happy Birthday too. She would have been 61 on Saturday. I made a scrapbook for Greg to look at every year on his birthday. I made it a couple of years ago and gave it to Carol. Then when she past, we got it back. The pictures are of Greg and his mom blowing out candles from day 1 in the hospital to 2005. He has some great memories of his birthday and I hope we can make many more for him in the future.

Now onto the other part of the blog...Camden is potty training himself. He just comes and tells us potty, so we put him on it, he goes, and tada. It's been 3 days of goin #1 and #2 on the potty. We bought some cute little undies, but he still likes the protection of his diaper. He won't put on pull ups either. But I think within the week, he'll see how its better to pull up and down his pants, rather than lay on the floor to be strapped in.

This could be a long week ahead of us...but I'm just glad its going easy so far. I thought I would start sometime next year because I heard boys were harder, but heck, this kid decided on his own and I'm not stoppin that.
Who knew peeing in the potty was such fascinating stuff to blog about. Sorry for those of you who think this is tmi.

That's exciting with Camden! I can't wait until you have your first poopy underwear incident. One of the kids I babysit had an accident at my house...I'm staring at this mondo glob of poo thinking "What in the world am I supposed to do with this?" I am sure it is a little easier when the "stuff" comes from your own kid but it is not pretty! Needless to say, I gagged, gave up, and tossed the undies :)Good luck!
